The gas engine hall was commissioned in 1899 and contained some awesome machinery.
From the original 600hp Cockerill gas engine to the largest gas engine ever built, the 11,000hp No.11 gas engine.
No.11 Gas engine was commissioned in 1938 and was capable of producing 6,000Kw of electricity.
The gas engines were fired by blast furnace gas.
