Ospedale Psichiatrico Di Q opened its doors in the 1890’s in a beautiful city on the Italian coast. Originally built to cater for 700 mentally ill patients, the site was extended to house around 1500 due to an increase in patients admitted.
The asylum was supposed to treat less ill patients, but many of those remained incarcerated for years, if not indefinitely.
The hospital closed in the 1990’s.
