Whilst there have been breweries in Alton since the late 18th Century, the present brewery site, which amounts to approximately 12 acres’ dates back to 1963 and since has had a succession of owners with Coors acquiring the site in 2002 with a name change in 2005 to Molson Coors.
The site was closed in May 2015 and is now being converted into houses and shops.
